Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about Tally Rewards, loyalty programs, and billing.

What is Tally Rewards?

Tally Rewards is a card-linked loyalty, rewards, and venue engagement app that helps you earn, track, and redeem rewards at participating venues.

How does Tally work?

Depending on the venue and feature, Tally may help you:

  • create an account and profile;
  • link an eligible payment card or account;
  • track qualifying purchases or visits;
  • earn points, streaks, status, and other loyalty rewards;
  • participate in challenges, groups, or leaderboards; and
  • redeem eligible rewards offered by participating venues.

Does Tally cost anything to use?

No. Tally does not currently charge consumers to create an account or use the consumer app, although Tally may offer consumer subscription features in the future.

How do I earn rewards?

Rewards can be earned through eligible activity at participating venues. That may include qualifying purchases, visits, streaks, milestones, challenges, or other venue-defined loyalty activity.

Not every purchase or visit will qualify, and eligibility can vary by venue.

Why do I need to link a card or account?

Some rewards features depend on linking an eligible payment card or account so Tally can identify qualifying purchases and match eligible transactions at participating venues.

Does Tally see my bank login credentials?

No. If you use Plaid-linked features, Plaid handles the connection flow. Tally does not directly receive or store your online banking username or password.

What data does Tally collect?

Tally may collect:

  • account details such as your name, phone number, email address, username, and profile information;
  • reward, redemption, and activity history;
  • challenge, leaderboard, and group activity;
  • device, app, and analytics information;
  • limited transaction or linked-account information needed for eligible rewards features; and
  • support and communication history.

For more detail, see the Privacy Policy.

Does Tally share my information with participating venues?

Yes. If you use Tally with a participating venue, Tally may share information with that venue so it can operate its loyalty program, support rewards and redemptions, understand customer activity, prevent fraud, and support customer service.

This can include your name, username, profile photo, Tally user ID, reward activity, visit history at that venue, eligible transaction activity at that venue, points, status, leaderboard activity, challenge participation, group activity, and reward redemptions.

Participating venues do not receive your online banking login credentials, full financial account credentials, or full card numbers from Tally.

Does Tally sell my personal information?

Tally does not sell your personal information for money. We may share information with service providers and partners that help operate the service, including providers that support linked accounts, rewards, communications, hosting, infrastructure, security, analytics, and billing, as described in our Privacy Policy.

Who issues gift card rewards?

Rewards are fulfilled directly by the participating venue under the terms shown at redemption.

Can I transfer my points or rewards to someone else?

Generally, no. Points and rewards are typically venue-specific and non-transferable unless a venue or applicable law says otherwise.

Do points have cash value?

No. Points are promotional or loyalty benefits and are not cash, bank deposits, or stored-value accounts, except where applicable law requires otherwise.

Why didn't I get points for a purchase?

There are several common reasons:

  • the purchase was not eligible under the venue's rules;
  • the linked payment method did not match successfully;
  • the transaction is still pending or could not be matched;
  • the venue was not participating at the time; or
  • the reward was blocked for fraud, security, technical, or compliance review.

If something looks wrong, contact support.

How long does it take for rewards to appear?

Timing can vary depending on the venue, transaction status, and any third-party processing involved. Some rewards may appear quickly, while others may take longer to confirm.

Can Tally remove or reverse rewards?

Yes. Tally may delay, deny, reverse, or cancel points or rewards if there is a mistake, suspected fraud, abuse, technical issue, compliance concern, sanctions risk, refund, chargeback, or violation of the Terms of Service.

Where can I use my reward?

Rewards are generally venue-specific. If a reward is a digital gift card reward, it is generally redeemable only with the participating venue that offered it.

Does Tally hold my money?

No. Tally does not accept deposits, hold customer funds, operate a consumer wallet, or provide banking services.

Does Tally require location access?

Tally may use approximate location, transaction or merchant location, or device location if you enable location-based features. You can manage device location permissions through your device settings.

Some features may work differently if location permissions are turned off.

Is Tally available outside the US and Canada?

Tally currently operates in the United States and Canada. Availability may vary by city, venue, and feature.

Can I delete my account?

Yes. You can delete your account in the app where available or contact privacy@tallyrewards.com.

Tally may retain limited information where required or permitted for legal, security, fraud-prevention, accounting, dispute resolution, compliance, or recordkeeping purposes.

Can I disconnect my linked card or account?

Yes. You can disconnect linked cards or accounts in the app where available.

If you disconnect a linked card or account, you may no longer earn rewards automatically, and some Tally features may stop working.

What messages will Tally send me?

Tally may send transactional, account, reward, redemption, subscription, billing, security, support, legal, or service-related messages. You can manage certain notification permissions through your device settings.
